Introduction to clothing in 14 - 18th centuries

Texts here deal mainly with western European clothing (England and France). They are based on Norris: Costume and Fashion, vol.2 Senlac to Bosworth, 1066-1485; 1927 and Viollet le Duc: Encyclopedie medievale; 1870 so it is possible that we will use some terms differently. We understand, that these books are old but still excellent for basic orientation. Besides costume terminology is a problem, because meaning of terms was changed during centuries and therefore is more important correction with pictorial materials.

Excuse us, we still hope to find better interpreter than us to translate pages.
