Venetian renaissance costumes

All four costumes were made for a historical music group called Collegium Verbascum. One of their members is also Věrka, who, being a hobby sewer, has her own section in the Costume gallery.
The costumes were inspired by the Venetian fashions in 1570-1580. We used sewing techniques and patterns of similar existing garments, such as the garments fully described in Janet Arnold, Patterns of Fashion. Almost all of the used materials come from the store Sartor.
