Evening sleeveless spencer

The sleeveless spencer (bodice) was a popular variegation of the ball or evening wear. This spencer was, as regards the pattern, partly inspired by the Empress Josephine bodice, 1805-1814, Malmaison palace. It is made of silk dupioni and linen lining, is embroidered with a chenille thread and metal spangles and is a part of evening outfit, c. 1795.
