  The chemisette is a piece worn under the dress or on the dress and fills low necklines of regency dresses. This chemisette trimmed with a treble mushroom-pleated frill at the neck is made of cotton muslin according to the extant piece from collections from the Snowshill Manor, England, c. 1800 1825 (J. Arnold, Patterns of Fashion 1).
