Baroque Underware
The
underwear consists of the smock, the underpants and the pair of
stockings made of white knitwear, which are secured by ribbons.
The smock and the underpants are made of white damask and the
lower edges are decorated with white handmade embroidery. The
smock is cut according to the “Italian
renaissance shirt” from the 17th century located in The Museum
of Victoria and Albert in London and the underpants are cut
according to “Italian
ladies underpants” from the second half of the 16th century
located in The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York . |
