Trossfrau

The garment of a woman accompanying the soldiers is inspired by a graphic G.270 Women and Knaves (c.1530, The German single-leaf woodcut, 1500-1550, Max Geisberg ; rev. and edited by Walter L. Strauss, New York : Hacker Art Books, 1974.). The dress has a bodice made of brocade and a linen skirt. The underdress and the chemise are described here. The headwear consists of wulsthaube and an embroidered steuchlein ( veil covering). The integral clothing part is a pouche created after an extant original in Brno Museum collection. The next page represents a back view.
