Below the dress is a white undergarment
based on
Lengberg finds. The extant piece is a part of the
"bodice". No such period depiction is known to the authors,
but it is possible to document undergarments - bodice with
skirt (e.g.
1st
half of 16th century). The illumination fol. 133v in
codex 2774 (Vienna, Österreichische Nationalbibliothek,
1448) shows "Lengberg"´s bodice type with attached skirt. |
