Anna Boleyn

 

  

   The dress made according the portrait of English Queen Anna Boleyn (Unknown artist, ca 1533-36, National Portrait Gallery, London, NPG 668). The base is a white batiste shirt decorated with a black embroidery. Other layer is a kirtle made of black tafetta and red-gold brocade (see the next pages). The dress is made of black velvet and consists of a dress with turn-back fur sleeves and a separate stomacher. The brocade foresleeves are tied up to the turn-back sleeves.
