Anna of Austria

  The complete Spanish court outfit is based on study of queen Anna`s portrait by Alonso Sanchez Coello in 1571. The black brocade upper dress with trail and triangular large sleeves underlined by damask is decorated by machine embroidery. The pattern is based on sketches of J.Alcega. Bobbin lace ruff is shaped according the instructions of J.Arnold (Patterns of fashion 4). The cotton handkerchief is decorated by bobbin laces.

  Underneath the black dress is golden sateen doublet fitted by gold ribbon and small cuts on narrow sleeves (pattern by J.Alcega) and golden skirt. Next layer is petticoat and verdugato made according J.Alcega patterns.
