Mongil

A Spanish mourning garment according to the Juan de Alcega's pattern book (1580) is characterized by a tight front and loose back half, below which lies the auxiliary lacing. The sleeves are typical Spanish pear-shaped sleeves. Clothing is complemented by a silk cap with a long veil, ruff and jewelry. The next pages show different views.
