Schnurmantel
We do not know wehere this mantle was found, or where it is located
now, but here is a reconstruction of this late 12-13th century
garment. It is made from 2 widths of fabric. The front is decorated
with a (probably) tablet-woven ribbon, green and yellow on a red
background, running along the whole length of the front rim. The
mantle was fastened on the neck with a tie.
